DEMOLITION AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS OF TRANSIT SHED 1 AT TENTH AVENUE MARINE TERMINAL

Work to be done shall be according to Drawing No. TA-2017-01 and Specification No. 2017-03 of the San Diego Unified Port District and shall include: Hazardous Materials Abatement (Primarily Asbestos and Lead Based Paint), Structural Deconstruction; Demolition and Removal of Transit Shed No. 1, Bays ‘A’, ‘B’ & ‘C’, adjacent Metal Shed, and Loading Dock; Recycling or legal disposal of all demolished materials; Crushing of Building Concrete Walls and Foundation to be used as Base Material; Excavation Unclassified Soil Material and placing and grading Soil Material at District Facility in Chula Vista; Water, sewer, and Electrical abandonment; Electrical Utility Service Upgrades, including 90 foot Mast Lighting, Fire Protection System, Storm Water Conveyance and quality BMP Improvements, and Site Paving; CCTV Camera Installation , Prefabricated Modular Restroom/Office Building and all other incidental items of Work as shown and specified. Work also includes installation of Modular Office Facility Site Improvements by the Main Gate including Site Grading, Retaining Walls, Water, Sewer, Electrical Services, Storm Water Conveyance and Quality BMP Improvements, and all other incidental items of Work as shown and specified.

The total contract duration is 400 calendar days. The Engineer’s Construction estimate for this work is $12,000,000.00.
The bidder must possess a valid California State Contractors License, Classification A at the time the contract is submitted.

A pre-bid conference will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on June 1, 2017, in Board Room at the District Administration Building, 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California 92101. The District’s representative will be present at the pre-bid conference to receive questions. At the end of the conference, interested parties may visit the job site but must RSVP in advance to snuman@portofsandiego.org by May 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with their name, company name, phone and email in order to be allowed access and escorted onto the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal. A valid identification will also be required to obtain access to the terminal. Submission of a Bid Proposal Package shall be evidence that the bidder has visited the jobsite and is satisfied with the conditions to be encountered if awarded the contract.

Questions or comments regarding this specification must be submitted electronically to our eBid system where the specification was downloaded and must be received by District no later than June 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Questions received after the date stated here will not be accepted. Emails and faxes will not be accepted. Responses from District will be communicated via the electronic eBid system to all recipients of this specification.
